In case you missed my Instagram/Facebook series, I’m reposting the content (and then some) here on the blog.

Today’s tip comes from personal trainer Anel Dzafic (@countdownfitness), who I met with for an intense sweat sesh. Anel says high intensity will always get you the best results, fastest. Why?

When the intensity goes up you’re stimulating your body to change. If you do a longer, easier routine over and over, your body gets comfortable and it ends up staying stagnant. As soon as you increase the intensity and step out of your comfort zone, you force your body to get stronger and leaner.

Try these ideas to shake up your routine: mix in three 30-second sprints to rev up your typical jog; lift your toes for the last 30 seconds of your wall sit; and hold that crunch as you reach even further for the last 3 breaths.

A word of caution — Anel says as the intensity increases, so does the risk of injury. A trainer can show you the safest, fastest way to a better body. Learn more at http://countdownfit.com/ and stay tuned for my post on the ab-rocking secrets of our workout.
