Immune-boosting Smoothie

Pointing at Smoothie_edited 2 (1 of 1)Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like this year there are more viruses and germs being passed around than ever! While it’s nice to be able to snuggle in bed on a day off, being sick is a HUGE waste of time.

So I’ve started to be more thoughtful about building up my defenses rather than popping over-the-counter cold and flu meds. But since shelling out $9 for a green juice makes my stomach churn, I’ve made a point to add some potent produce to my shopping routine so I can whip up some health-defending smoothies at home.

I prefer smoothies over juices. Juices (even the green ones!) are guilty of spiking your blood sugar. But because smoothies retain the fruit and vegetable fiber, they help stabilize blood sugar so you stay full and energized. Plus, most of us can use more fiber in our lives to keep all systems GO so we can flush those germs and viruses goodbye.
